I notice it now… the moment I slip.

The moment my mind starts reaching… fixing… trying to make sense of everything.

And for a second, I’m not here anymore.

I’m in the story.

I used to think that meant I was doing something wrong. That I should be “beyond” this by now.

But that was just another thought… another expectation.

Now I see it for what it is.

A pattern.
A pull.
A familiar place my mind goes when it wants to feel safe… or in control.

And instead of following it all the way down like I used to…

I pause.

Not to fight it.
Not to figure it out.
Not to make it go away.

Just to feel myself again.

My breath.
My body.
The quiet underneath it all. 🩷
