Today is a great day to be happy. Today is a great day to feel gratitude. Today is a GREAT day to take control of your health. To eat better, to drink more water, to embody a positive mindset about your health. If we wait until we are ready, we’ll never take that next step towards signing up for that class we’ve always wanted to join, towards something that we are passionate about, or towards self-care, amongst many other things.
Stop waiting for things to happen to you and make things happen for YOURSELF! Stop waiting for the perfect moment to focus on your health and find excuses why you can't take on the challenge now. You're fooling yourself if you think there will ever be that perfect moment to start anything in life. It's just you making excuses! You just have to force yourself to take that first step and everything else will fall into place!
This goes for me too. I’ve been holding back from being me and posting on social media because I wanted to wait until I had all of my services perfectly in order, or I had to have this perfect order of posts to share, or I had just the right quotes and pictures but all that did was keep me hidden and afraid. I just have to start doing and as I keep doing I’ll get better.
Taking the first step is monumental. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about effort. When you bring effort every single day that’s when transformation happens and that’s when change occurs. Tip toe if you must but take the step to start being the best version of yourself!
What is the one thing that you have been putting off that you have been waiting for the “right time”?

RANDOM HOME INGREDIENT RECIPE OF THE WEEK:
I’m literally cleaning out my freezer of half used bags of frozen vegetables and making use of my spare time. I love green peas but only if they are mixed with other flavors. So I decided to make some hummus out of the leftovers. I have been making my own hummus at home while I have the time so I already had ingredients on hand. This is great snack and great way to get kids to eat peas without the vomit face! This recipe is packed with flavor but most importantly; NUTRIENTS!
One of the best ways to support your immune system during this time is to eat your veggies! Peas contain good amounts of fiber which help to feed the healthy bacteria in your gut which is imperative for a strong immune system.
Peas are packed with protein, rich in folate and other B vitamins, iron, vitamin C (another immune booster), and have even been known to help regulate blood sugar. Garlic has anti-inflammatory properties, has anti-bacterial properties, aids in respiratory health and can be good for heart health. Tahini paste (ground sesame) is rich in antioxidants, has anti-bacterial properties and has been known to strengthen the nervous system. Olive oil is a good source of healthy fats and can aid in reducing inflammation. I hope you enjoy!
Green Pea Hummus
-1.5 cups of peas (thawed)
-2 teaspoons of tahini paste
-2 tablespoons of lemon juice
-1 teaspoon of minced garlic
-2 tablespoons of olive oil
-1 teaspoon of sea salt
-1/2 teaspoon of cracked pepper
Directions
1. Place all of the ingredients in processor EXCEPT the olive oil
2. Pulse the mixture a few times to break it down
3. Then turn the ON button and slowly pour in the olive oil. Process for about 2 minutes or more until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Eat with your favorite veggies!

L-Glutamine is an amino acid that we produce on our own but sometimes becomes depleted. I recommend l-glutamine to my clients as a supplement to help repair and rebuild the mucosal lining of the intestinal wall.
I have found over the years of working with hundreds of people that almost every single person with an autoimmune condition is dealing with “leaky gut”, or intestinal permeability, or some type of gastrointestinal disorder. With leaky gut, there are microscopic gaps in the wall of the intestines that allows bacteria and toxins to pass into the bloodstream. When this happens toxins can travel around the body, via the blood, to cause systemic inflammation. Inflammation is the root cause of many diseases. How do you know if you suffer from leaky gut? You’ll have bloating, fatigue, foggy brain and sometimes even skin issues.
So how does supplementing with free-form L-Glutamine restore intestinal integrity?
+aids in repairing the mucosal membranes in the intestines
+ increases cellular turnover and regenerates cells faster
+ helps stabilize blood sugar
+ reduces sugar cravings
+ helps manage IBS symptoms and digestive complaints
+ helps reduce inflammation
According to a paper published in the Journal of Epithelial Biology and Pharmacology, Glutamine supplementation causes a profound improvement in intestinal barrier function in highly stressed patients.
So how can you supplement with it? I love mixing 1-2 tsp of L-Glutamine in water and chugging!
