Bridal Beauty ❤️

Photos from Kelli Durham's post 11/09/2025

Those close to me know that my sweet dad had been battling cancer for the last few years. We have been walking the chemo journey with him and my mom, spending more time in Texas than California, and weathering all the ups and downs. My business quietly shifted as I took on less to be fully present with family.

Tuesday night, my dad took his final breath after fighting bravely for several years.

There are no words big enough for this part of life. It’s surreal to say goodbye… He was the safest place, the steady presence, the voice of reason. They say fathers shape who their daughters become. Mine certainly did.

My dad was wise, funny, intelligent, and full of love. He taught me justice, faith, empathy, and how to appreciate the beauty of nature and life itself. He had compassion for the marginalized and knew how to celebrate joy. He could feel deeply and think with intellectual depth, yet always carried humor to lift the heavy moments.

He had a way with words, a way of teaching right from wrong, a way of making all my troubles disappear simply because he was my papa. He appreciated beauty in all its forms — travel, culture, food, music. He had a love for luxury but was equally content with only his sleeping bag and his dog. He loved to learn, to marvel, to dream. He loved Jesus deeply, quietly and authentically. He was my biggest supporter and fiercest protector. He gave me the courage to grow, to rise, to become. He set the precedent for the man I would come to choose as my husband. We shared an unspoken understanding because, in many ways, I was just like him.

As deeply as I feel the void of his absence, I am so thankful he isn’t suffering anymore. I’m grateful we got to walk him all the way Home. And I hold onto the truth that love doesn’t end here — it becomes legacy.

The photos I have of my dad will become heirlooms for my son — and someday for his children — telling the story of who he is and where he came from. That is the gift of remembering. I am thankful now, more than ever, to give this gift to other families.
Thank you for all the thoughts, messages, sweet gestures/gifts and prayers that have been sent this week. They have meant so much. ❤️

Quiet moments before the "I do's." The light, the dress, the pause — it’s all perfect.

Destination weddings can be memorable not just for the stunning views (hello from atop Casa de Valerie in Puerto Vallarta!) — but also for the extended time spent with loved ones.
