Loc Huynh’s “The Grownup’s Table (2024) and “The Kid’s Table (2024)
These complimentary works show dining scenes of family gatherings: “The Grownup’s Table,” which shows the Huynh’s mom, aunts, uncles, and grandfather sharing a meal, references the artist’s own family photos and Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic painting, “The Potato Eaters” (1885)
Capturing a kinship between his family photos and Van Gogh’s painting, Huynh depicts a sense of togetherness over a shared, humble meal. Its companion piece, The Kid’s Table” shows a child’s birthday party complete with a 1990s Barney-themed birthday cake 🎂
Both of these works are on view just one more weekend!
