"I currently work as a hospital accompaniment advocate for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. When on call, I meet clients in a hospital setting and provide face-to-face crisis intervention and safety planning to survivors. As a survivor myself, I am very passionate about helping these individuals move their lives forward and live a life free from violence. In addition to this, I feel it is extremely important to seek social change to end domestic and sexual violence through community awareness and education.

Although the task of crisis intervention can be challenging, it is important to realize that, as an advocate, I am doing my best to provide clients with emotional support and options to deal with the aftermath of their traumatic experiences. I am always learning how to be a better advocate from my clients. I want to empower them (especially women) by helping them find the strength they have within themselves.

My ultimate goal is to continue working with those who have survived trauma and help them move their lives forward when I graduate with my counseling degree. But mostly, I want survivors to know that they are not alone."
