"Set goals so high that they demand a different version of you."

6 months ago I avoided running at all costs. Last Sunday, I did my first Hyrox.

What an experience! 🔥🥳 The last time I competed in anything was ten years ago, in dancesport, and it felt great to be back in a battlefield, wearing a different kind of "bib" this time. I feel like I truly belong in a competitive environment, no matter what it is.

We set a goal and we accomplished it, and it's the best feeling. It only gets better from here! ⬆️📈

WHERE I'D GO FOR MATCHA AND OTHER TEAS IN SAN ANTONIO 🍃

If you like "grassy", vegetal, savory, or even seaweedy matcha, this list is for you.

If you like it just sweet and milky, you can just skip. ✌️

How did I end up with this list?

1. I judged based on their most plain matcha selections or matcha lattes (hot or cold, mostly hot), before trying their flavored concoctions.
2. If they are offering flavored ones, the tea still has to shine through.
3. I tried over 30 spots before coming up with this list.
4. I included places with other teas, not just matcha.
5. I tried most of these featured places several times.
6. If all I taste is milk, sugar, or fruit, you're out. 🥲

Comments on selected spots:

- They have creative creations like "Dreaming of Phuket" made with matcha, coconut water, and mango syrup, and a "Mango Sticky Rice Matcha". They are also my favorite coffee spot in San Antonio, for the record.

- When they started, their matcha was more on the mild side but they have really improved from then and I find their drinks more balanced now.

- I like the hot version more than the iced. I don't know if it's just me, but I got subtle oceanic notes only from their matcha and from Full Goods, which has unfortunately closed.

- Some places could use a bit more improvement in the preparation, but I included them just the same because I liked them flavorwise. 🤷‍♂️
