Mexican authorities say “El Mencho,” leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, was killed during a military operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco.
After the operation, there are reports of road blockades, burned vehicles, and heavy security presence in several states including Jalisco, Michoacán, Colima, Guanajuato, Tamaulipas and Aguascalientes.

Houston Police said the suspect is still at large and is believed to be the ex-boyfriend of a person who lives there. Anyone with information is asked to contact HPD or Crime Stoppers. KPRC 2 Ricky Muñoz reports.
Shots fired outside a Washington Avenue club overnight.
One man is in critical condition.

The Texas Education Agency is warning school districts about student walkouts during the school day.
The agency says schools should not encourage or help facilitate protests and that there could be consequences tied to attendance, funding, and oversight.
