✨IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT✨ Every year for the past 25 years, HSD Inc. has been excited to provide our community with the annual Houston Salsa Congress event. While we were incredibly excited for our January HSC2026. We recognize the current challenges facing and impacting the United States politically, economically, and socially. Given the volume of concern raised and received by both national and international artists and attendees, we must act with care and consideration.
With the ongoing issues domestically and internationally with immigration, travel visas, Real ID enforcement, and foreign policy, both domestic and international travel is being severely impacted. Unfortunately, these challenges continue to impact us and our participants, whether traveling by air or ground transportation.
We have also seen shifts within the dance community, including the emergence of other events scheduling during our original timeframe. Some of our artists and partners have felt significant pressure to commit to these engagements, which further impacts our ability to deliver the high-quality experience you expect from the Houston Salsa Congress. Rather than compromise the integrity of our programming, we believe rescheduling is the best way to ensure a vibrant, inclusive, and world-class event for all participants as we have provided for the past 25 years.
We have been diligently reviewing the situation alongside our legal counsel, our partners, artists and other stakeholders. We have made the difficult but necessary decision to reschedule the event. The Houston Salsa Congress will be postponed and now will take place on its regular annual schedule of MLK Jr Weekend; January 14–18, 2027.
We understand the decision may not be ideal for everyone, as it was extremely difficult for us, but we believe it is the most responsible course of action to protect the integrity of the event, our non-profit organization, and our community. All current passes will be transfer to HSC2027 January 14-18, 2027 event. Please refer to the information on your pass.
