In 2011, the Clear Lake City Water Authority (CLCWA) purchased the defunct Clear Lake Golf Course property with the intention of creating a state-of-the-art storm water detention and retention system. This was necessary to mitigate serious local flooding potentials exacerbated by more than 40 years of residential and commercial development that preceded modern stormwater detention technology. The
