Prayers and Support for California Wildfire Victims and affected people: A Message from The Islamic Institute

In the wake of the devastating wildfires raging across California, particularly in areas like Pacific Palisades and Eaton, our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected. As we witness the destruction of homes, displacement of families, and immense environmental damage, we stand in solidarity with the people of California and the United States.

During this difficult time, let us come together in prayer, compassion, and action to support those who are enduring this trial. We turn to Allah (SWT), seeking His mercy and protection, as we offer the following dua

Dua for Relief from the Wildfire Catastrophe

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem (In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful)

O Allah, Lord of the heavens and the earth, the All-Merciful, we turn to You in this time of trial as wildfires rage and destruction spreads. You are the Controller of the winds and the rains; we humbly ask You to send Your mercy and extinguish these flames, calming the earth and skies.

Ya Allah, protect all those affected by this calamity. Guard their lives, homes, and loved ones. Grant safety to the firefighters, first responders, and volunteers working tirelessly to contain this disaster.

O Allah, ease the suffering of those who have lost their homes and belongings. Replace their losses with blessings greater than they can imagine and fill their hearts with patience and hope.

Ya Rahman, Ya Raheem, we ask You to forgive our shortcomings and purify us through these trials. Let this event serve as a reminder of our dependence upon You and bring our hearts closer to Your remembrance.

O Allah, make this a means of healing and renewal for the community and all who are impacted. Unite us in compassion, love, and action to support those in need.

You are the Most Powerful, the Most Merciful. In You alone we place our trust.

Rabbana taqabbal minna, innaka Antas-Sami’ul-Alim.
(Our Lord, accept from us; indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.)

Ameen.

May Allah protect the people of California and the United States and bring relief to all those in need. We will continue to pray and humbly support efforts to assist the affected communities.

Condemnation, Condolence, and Prayer Statement from The Islamic Institute.

We at The Islamic Institute are deeply saddened and outraged by the heinous act of violence in New Orleans, where a car drove into a crowd on Bourbon Street, causing victims, injury, and devastation. We strongly condemn this senseless and cruel attack against innocent people. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and the entire New Orleans community during this difficult time.

In these moments of pain and loss, we pray for the swift recovery of the injured and offer our sincerest condolences to all those affected. May God grant strength and patience to the victims and their loved ones, and may He bring peace and healing to the community.

The Qur’an (5:32) emphasizes the immense value and sanctity of human life, teaching that taking the life of an innocent person is akin to killing all of humanity, while saving a single life is as though one has saved all of humanity. This powerful message serves as a reminder of the profound responsibility we hold to preserve and protect life, fostering compassion and justice in our actions.

We pray for a world filled with safety, compassion, and understanding, and we stand with New Orleans in hope and resilience.

Sincerely,
The Islamic Institute
