OVERVIEW OF THE STORY:
Pounds is what Queen & Slim, The Wire, and Power become when they ménage.
STORYLINE:
The central setting is present day Detroit, with characters and plots that extend to other locations like the spokes on a wagon wheel. A vast array of characters intersect to compose a symphony of twisted ambitions, greed and lustful desires. The premise expands from an unlikely love story, with a six degrees of separation approach to highlighting the gritty environment of the surrounding harsh urban landscape, to encompass the cops and robbers element. These factors highligh the eight components of any great drama; s*x and violence, loyalty and betrayal, humor and tragedy, and the rise and fall.
Hairstylist and salon owner (Cake) is forced to take care of two siblings after her mother commits su***de. Through unforeseen circumstances, she meets a street guy with a smooth demeanor and checkered past (Blassi). Cake initially holds a strong dislike for Blassi due to his past actions and his close interaction with her younger brother.
Blassi is a recently released ex-con on the come up. His struggles are attempting to guide his gang members toward financial success, not fall into the temptation of moving narcotics, and parlaying his low-risk, but illegal w**d hustle, into something legitimate. His associations with wealthy hustlers and verified street cred, keep him one false step away from returning to prison.
The feds are utilizing their most crafty tactics to infiltrate the murderous underworld of Detroit drug dealers. In the fray of elements from all walks of life meeting on the uneven playing field, Cake and Blassi find each other, while others struggle to hold onto their identities and their lives.

Shalonda "Cake" Ellington= 28 year old salon owner. Beautiful, 5' tall, outspoken and independent. Refuses to let a man define who she is. Drives a pink older model Jaguar w/ personalized plate. Takes care of her brother and sister since her mom died 5 years ago.
(Three guy extras to play construction workers in salon)
Poppa=35 years old, neighborhood poe pimp. Former mentor of Blassi. Always trying to get up on a few dollars at a dice game or borrowing. Owns a ragtag construction company. Old school hood n***a.
JaeKwon "Blassi" Williams= Handsome 28 year old ex-con, O.G. Blood gang member trying to build something respectable in life. No nonsense, intelligent and loyal.
Roderick "Rocky" Nelson: Nearly 40 years old, Heavyweight dealer. Head of a crew called the Hush Mob. Silence, Mumbles and Whispers his top earners. Dangerous, smart and paid.
Leslie "Lee Lee" Ellington= 22 year old, younger sister of Cake. Stripper and s*x addict. Thinks getting paid to have s*x is the best thing ever. Outgoing, lively, but observant. Member of Three The Hard Way.
Tyrone "Ty" Ellington = 15 year old, brother of Cake and Lee Lee. Blood gang member, thinks he's built for the street life, but tries to be smoother than guys his age.
Rashard "Duke" Allen= 28 years old, Blassi's right hand. The life of the party. Seriously into the game, but loyal to his team. Not interested in quitting hustling, but plays his part.
Diamond "DJ" Jackson = 20 something stripper. One of Blassi's side bi***es. Down for whatever, member of Three The Hard Way.
Shanda- (age not important) Stylist employed by Cake at Flawless Salon. Smart ass, but means well. Plays second fiddle to extreme blabbermouth coworker Nikki.
Nikki- (age not important) Freaky, inappropriate, gossiping stylist employed by Cake at Flawless. Married, but promiscuous. Has Cake's back, but still instigates at every turn.
Yella= 16 years old, second most ambitious of the young Bloods. Loyal to the crew, but determined to get rich.
Money= 15 years old, all about the girls and cracking jokes. Blood gang member, but not the serious type. Extremely selfish.
Hitta= 15 years old. Most likable s**t talker. Ready for action, but a hustler too. Best friend of Ty as well as crew member. Comes from a family of bangers.

Mika- 17 years old. Ty's girlfriend. Gold digger, pretty, and nosey. Loves the fact that Ty is hustling.
Dude Sexing Lee Lee- 20 something, in good shape. Arrogant and boisterous.
Latasha "Bad Karma" Matthews = 20 something knock-out from Cali. Drop dead gorgeous, but no-nonsense. Bossy and plugged. Introduces Lee Lee and DJ to hustling drugs in exchange for undying loyalty. Brains behind Three The Hard Way.
Rhonda- Late 20's/ Early 30's, High level taste maker/ music promotion exec. Good looking woman who knows her business. Flirtatious and forward.
Clerk at DMV- (age not important) Female Blood gang member. Inside connect for her people.
