A multidisciplinary approach gives the most optimal and predictable outcomes when treating babies with tongue tie and oral restrictions. A baby that latches, without pain, and is gaining weight well does not mean they are latching well. A baby with ties will compensate to get by. Having a good release provider and bodyworker is extremally important, but it is NOT a substitute for working with an IBCLC and/or SLP to work on sucking skills and proper oral mechanics to insure sustainability and good feeding skills.

The body is very adaptable and smart. It is made to work. Many moms jump to increasing calories when their milk production is low, but in my experience that is at the bottom of the list of reasons for low milk production. If you need help increasing your milk supply call
