What a special night. Nearly 3 years in the making. Roughly 16 years since we stepped on stage in previous bands. Most of our kids had never seen us on stage. They never knew our past lives, and how much creating music and performing it live shaped our everything. We can get lost in the day to day.. and that’s okay. Life. Family. Careers. Business. Loss. -It all plays a part. Around 3 years ago a mutual friend passed away suddenly. It made me question why we hadn’t been creating music, and the fragility of life. Time only seems to speed up. We needed to continue the journey. Soon we realized just how much we needed the outlet. - Heavy Sails was born. Having Jeff’s son Ben, playing horns on this song, and our kids lending a hand with backing vocals all the while being in the room to see it played live for the first time.. was a full circle moment. It’s still a beginning.. and we appreciate that you are here. - Brian
