Last week we dove into what causes stress in ourselves, so now let’s discuss what this look like in our students. Remember our amygdala’s will go into threat mode when they perceive a threat. To our human brain, threat is perceived when we don’t have our basic needs met. Swipe to learn more about basic needs that your students might perceive as a threat and produce stress. Next week we will focus on frustration and boredom and how these are stressors as well for students.
And if you want some strategies for studying for exams join us for a seminar, Brain Friendly Exam Tips: Always Test Your Best to learn best practices and to use that stress to be successful on exams, not be anxious.

As teachers, we make time for our students to reflect on their learning experience. Reflecting as a teacher is not as easy; we are limited by time and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues. Join us December 5th and 6th for “Reflect and Regroup” a 2 part seminar to reflect on the semester before the winter holidays and brainstorm strategies and techniques for a fresh new start in 2021! Check out our website for registration.
