Wireless vibration has a range problem in real plants.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi drop out behind steel and concrete. Batteries die fast. Then people decide wireless does not work in industrial sites.

The problem was the radio, not the idea.

LoRaWAN was built for this. Long range, low power, penetrates walls and obstructions, years of battery life.

Wireless that survives the plant floor, not just the office.

What killed wireless monitoring at your site, range or batteries?

Curious how other teams are handling this.

The alarm was green. The machine was not.

A BMS can tell you the fan tripped, the temperature rose, the motor is pulling more current. Usually that means the problem already got expensive.

Mechanical faults start earlier. Imbalance, looseness, bearing wear, misalignment, cavitation. They show up in vibration before they show up as a building alarm.

Controls tell you what happened. Vibration tells you what is starting.

Where do your teams find the issue first, the BMS, the route, or the failure?

Worth a look if you own rotating equipment.
