Awareness for people living with pulmonary hypertension (PH), a rare and debilitating disease, is a matter of life or death. In PH, arteries in the lungs can become damaged, narrow or stiff, putting pressure on the right side of the heart. Because common symptoms of PH (shortness of breath, fatigue and chest pain) are often misdiagnosed, a proper diagnosis and treatment is often delayed, costing patients valuable time. With early diagnosis, proper treatment can extend and improve PH patients’ quality of life.
