Today he helped us rescue 13 dogs from a hoarding situation in Waco, ON HIS BIRTHDAY 🎉 .

At just 2 years old and 17 pounds, Niko Cage has already experienced more uncertainty than any dog should. Rescued just in time from a high-kill shelter, he's slowly discovering that his story doesn't have to end there,it can be the beginning of something beautiful. ❤️

When you first meet Niko, he may be a little cautious. He's still learning that the world can be a safe place and that gentle hands bring comfort instead of fear. But if you give him a little patience... something incredible happens.

The timid little dog becomes the sweetest cuddle buddy you could ever imagine. He leans into your touch, wants to stay close, and begins to love with his whole heart. It's the kind of trust that's earned—and it's one of the most rewarding gifts you'll ever receive.

Niko is continuing to work on his potty training and will thrive with a family willing to offer consistency, encouragement, and understanding. He'd do best in a calm home where he can settle in at his own pace. He's dog-selective, so a carefully matched canine friend could be wonderful, but he'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one and only.

Some dogs need rescuing. Others need someone willing to believe in them.

Saturday update

Update on the dogs that were trapped yesterday and brought to Camo Rescue. 🛟

The owner opened their garage door and let seven male dogs out (intentionally) and they took off down the street running. Five of them were caught last night, but sadly one of them drowned in a neighbors pool. The last one was just caught thanks to the awesome Andrea. He will be coming to us tomorrow. The Dogs that we received have were groomed. They all need neutered and dentals and are 3-6 years old. ❤️‍🩹

They were covered in fleas, urine and f***s. God only knows how long the neglect lasted. I will file a report with Harris County.

Welcome these 5 cuties to Camo rescue! 🛟 We don’t know if they were dumped or escaped! But they are in horrendous condition. We really don’t have room for them anywhere, but I couldn’t bear to see them get hit by a car. We asked some of the awesome Houston Trapper’s to trap them and we would figure it out. They are on their way to us now. Foster’s needed 🛟

Thanks to Melanie Hill for trapping them. They need groomed, dentals and full vetting.
