As A Man Thinks

Do you have the mindset of a dreamer? Do you know what it takes to willingly press on when others day you should quit? If you possess a dream, you need a mindset that will guide you and protect you as your dream unfolds.

What we believe about our dream will make or break its success. There’s just no way of getting around this. As we really believe, as we really think, so we are. If you want your dream to become a reality, you need to believe in it with all your being, and you need to believe God is able to do the impossible, regardless of your circumstances.

Dreamers believe their dream will come true before their eyes ever see it unfold. They even know in large part what will unfold. Edison knew the light bulb would dispel darkness before one was ever created. Orville and Wilbur Wright knew it was possible to fly before they ever built Kitty Hawk.

The most powerful way to fully inhabit your dream is to follow the prophet Habakkuk’s advice: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it” (Habakkuk 2:2). Don’t underestimate the power of writing your dream down plainly. If you cannot write down what you want to happen in simple words, then you don’t really know what it is that you want to happen. If that is the case, spend time reflecting on what it is. If you don’t know what you want, it’s highly unlikely you’ll ever achieve your God-given dream.

Once you can articulate your dream fully, the next step is to absorb it. Think about what the Bible says. Throughout scripture we are told, “keep this in front of your eyes,” or “keep this in your heart,” or “keep this in your mouth.” Why? Because we become what we behold. As a man thinks, so he is.

Today's Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Ask God to speak to you about your dream and the steps you need to take to make it a reality. Then write them down in simple terms and begin to meditate on the divine dream God has given you. Believe in faith that God will bring this great thing to fruition, and then watch expectantly for it.
