In 2025, a greater emphasis on resiliency will move our cities forward.
That was a ringing theme of the 2025 Economic Forecast Luncheon & Lifetime Achievement Award Presentation, hosted by CoreNet Houston Chapter at the The Junior League of Houston, Inc.
The event featured Patrick Jankowski, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at the Greater Houston Partnership who provided an in-depth analysis of local, regional, and U.S. economic trends.
The luncheon also honored Maggie Hatfield - Hartley, Vice President Real Estate Services | Halliburton with the Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating her significant contributions to real estate.
We were inspired by the professional insight and commentary from various organizations in attendance. Overall, we feel motivated to design for people and planet this year.
We recently explored how pop culture can influence design with Sutton Schreiber and his presentation “Design Inspiration from Artists in Pop Culture.”
Sutton delves into how the personalities and artistry of his favorite musical icons—Dolly Parton, Adele, Chappell Roan, and Shania Twain—have shaped his personal design philosophy.
Sutton embraces maximalism, a bold design approach rooted in the philosophy that “more is more.” Like his musical muses, he believes design should be an extension of personality—a layered, vibrant, and deeply personal experience.
From Dolly’s unapologetic authenticity to Adele’s timeless elegance, Sutton draws inspiration not just from their music but from their identities and confidence in their craft. His designs reflect this ethos, merging eclectic patterns, rich colors, and curated textures to create spaces that tell a story.
His key takeaway? “Interiors are such a personal style of design. Don’t be afraid to push boundaries, ask ‘why,’ and let your work reflect who you are.”
