SunBody Hats

This is Lupita shaping a Gus hat. She has been with SunBody Hats for 15 years and is responsible for many of the finishing touches that bring each hat to completion. Her favorite part of the process is working on the lacing and hatbands, where she adds the final details that give each hat its character.



Lupita has also spent the past 15 years shaping hats by hand. When asked about shaping the Gus hat, she explained that it takes patience — making sure the hat is perfectly centered, the eye indentations are balanced, and the pencil roll on the brim is formed just right.



She hopes that when customers receive a hat shaped by her, they feel satisfied and that the hat feels perfect from the moment they put it on.

Although she shapes many hats in the same style, Lupita says each one is unique in its own way — because every hat is made and shaped by hand.
