Making A Mark

st each year who, with the help of The Periwinkle Foundation volunteers, works with children at the Cancer Center to create a collaborative piece to be included in the traveling exhibit. The exhibit opens for a month in September of each year in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, then part of the exhibit travels to various locations throughout the state, country and the world. Each time it is displayed viewers can choose to send a "Postcard from the Road" to tell the child what they work means to them. The Periwinkle Foundation receives thousands of these postcards throughout the year and in term sends them to the original artists and their families. This project is funded by a grant from the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance
