My family and home in Houston are safe and undamaged from the storms. Our power is out, perhaps for weeks, but we're OK.

It was time to update my daughter's room, from the Princess and the Frog design she's had for a few years, to a "big girl" design more fitting of her current interests and tastes. High fashion was the only way to go!

She loves fashion, and wants to be a designer someday. She got a sewing machine awhile back, but didn't really have a place to set it up and use it. So, we decided on a loft bed with a desk for sewing.
