Texas Employers: We Need Your Help!!!
Workforce Solutions has recently removed Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) from the High Skill, High Growth (HSHG) list in Texas. The reason given is that there haven’t been enough job opportunities in the field.
From what we’re seeing in the industry, that conclusion simply isn't true!.
At Refined NDT, we maintain a 90.68% employment rate. While older data may suggest that not everyone finds work immediately after school, the reality is that qualified inspectors are in short supply, and employers across Texas are feeling it.
Because of this change:
State funding for NDT training has stopped
Students already approved for financial assistance may lose support when contracts renew with Schools offering NDT
Fewer new inspectors will enter the workforce
Inspector shortages will continue to grow
This affects manufacturers, energy companies, infrastructure projects, and third-party NDT providers statewide.
How you can help
If you hire NDT personnel — directly or through a third-party provider — please take a moment to speak up.
