Manager of Investor Relations

The Client: A well-established and successful Texas based private equity firm with nearly $1B deployed across multiple investment verticals including real estate, oil & gas, renewable energy, and legal services.

The Role: A high-profile client liaison who will partner with internal stakeholders to service private and institutional investors across all investment funds with planned growth trajectory to Director of Investor Relations.

The Successful Candidate: A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with an MBA. Over 10 years of professional experience including high net wealth private client services, bulge bracket investment banking, and high-end consulting with specialties in oil & gas and renewable energy. Excellent track record of success, highly analytical, extremely likeable and personable with a strong ability to build and maintain deep and lasting professional relationships.

We are partnering with a mid-sized upstream oil & gas operator in their search for a Chief Accounting Officer.
The Chief Accounting Officer is a key member of the company’s leadership team and must have very broad accounting experience within the upstream oil and gas sector, including general accounting, management reporting, revenue, JIB, AP, production reporting and oversight of property tax filings.
The Chief Accounting Officer will manage and mentor the accounting department and report directly to the CFO.
Some core responsibilities for the Chief Accounting Officer are:
• Oversight of the general ledger and monthly/quarterly/annual close process
• Establish and maintain a strong internal controls environment
• Coordination of the annual audit
• Monthly management reporting
• Quarterly financial forecasts
• Treasury
• Financial analysis & KPIs
• Federal & state production and regulatory reporting
• Property tax filings and processes
• Manage and mentor a team of professionals, with direct reports at the manager and higher levels
• Special projects
Required credentials and skills for the Chief Accounting Officer:
• CPA is absolutely required
• 10+ years of professional experience in upstream oil & gas
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting / preparation of consolidated financials
• Experience partnering with Land and other areas of the operations team
• Experience with Revenue, JIB and AP
• Familiarity with production reporting
• Familiarity with property tax filings
• Strong leadership experience with a proven track record of success
• Good tenure with and the keen ability to build lasting relationships
• Highly analytical and detail oriented
• Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
• High level of personal and professional integrity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
