In 2021, I made one of the most important decisions of my life—I relocated back to Beaumont and built a home so I could take care of my dad as his health began to decline.

Those moments weren’t always easy, but they were everything. Sitting in ICU, laughing with him, catching him trying to sweet-talk the nurses for snacks he knew he wasn’t supposed to have—and me walking in reminding him with a smile… those are the memories I’ll hold onto forever 🤍

For a long time, I stayed busy. I made sure I showed up for every moment of Bree’s life, every event, every milestone. But when she left for school in August, everything got quiet… and in that silence, the grief got loud.

From August to November, I was functioning—but I was hurting. Grieving my dad. Feeling the weight of loss. Trying to navigate emotions I hadn’t allowed myself to fully process, all while feeling unseen in places I expected comfort.

Starting therapy changed everything for me.

I had to sit with the truth. I had to feel it all. Losing the parent I could talk to about anything broke me in ways I didn’t even realize at first. But healing taught me something powerful…

I am okay.

Even without the reassurance I used to get from him, I’ve learned how to give that to myself. I’ve learned how to heal, how to release, and how to forgive—even when I never received an apology.

And let me tell you… there is so much peace on this side.

I no longer force what doesn’t flow. I let people do what they choose to do. I trust God to straighten every crooked path in my life. And moving forward, my decisions won’t come from trauma or loneliness—but from love, clarity, and intention.

The enemy thought he had his way with me… but God and I took the pen back ✍🏽

This next chapter? It’s not just coming… it’s going to be one of the best chapters of my life.

And Daddy… I hope you see me. I’m still standing. I’m still growing. And I’m going to make you proud every step of the way 🤍🕊️🫶🏽
