I’ve struck up quite the friendship with a squirrel in my neighborhood. Every couple of days when I’m watering my plants, she will come to my feet and ask me for nuts. She’s not shy about it. If my back is to her, she will come right up to my feet and graze the back of my heel. Or she will walk around to get in front of me so that I can see her. At first she would sit far away from me to eat. Now she will come up and take the nuts from my leg or a small bowl. I’m wait for the day she’ll let me hand feed her. I’ve named her Sandy. 🐿️ This is the second year of our friendship and this year she is a momma.

Now before I hear from all the animal protection people…I don’t over feed her, the nuts are natural and it’s a different variety with seeds and fruit too. Her favorite is pecans though.

During the pandemic I had peacocks coming to my door for food. It’s the wild over here in Tanglewood. 😂
