I don’t always share the live paintings I create, but there’s something uniquely special about each one. Gestural lines, sketch marks made directly in paint, layers of color mixing due to the lack of dry time.

This piece was completed in roughly four hours. The energy of the crowd always finds its way into the work with these. I really like the textures that came through in this one, thanks for looking! 🌇

Final photos for my mural at Pitner Park in Precinct 4. This mural was designed and created with the involvement of community leaders and residents who live near and use this park. The quetzal and surrounding patterns and flora are nods to the cultural roots of the people who live here - many with ties to Mexico and Central America. The vendors and children represent the daily movement of this busy street: walking groups, soccer practice and daily runners.
The crocheting hands serve as a reminder of the internal fabric, the culture, care, and traditions that continue to carry us.
