Do you ever feel paralyzed by the thought of failure? You're not alone. For many years, I kept myself small because of this fear. Through my work in therapy, I began to realize how staying small was keeping me from showing up and being the best version of myself. While creating this post, I was reminded of one of my favorite quotes about failure and courage by Theodore Roosevelt, brought into my life via Brené Brown -

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly.” - Theodore Roosevelt

Loving yourself is an ongoing practice that requires effort and dedication. It is important to remember that you are worthy of love and that you are capable of providing it to yourself. By implementing self-love strategies such as practicing gratitude, and taking time for yourself, you can start the journey towards appreciating and accepting yourself just as you are.

With patience and dedication, you can develop a healthy relationship with yourself that will benefit all aspects of your life.
