Thee Way Maker

Why do the wicked prosper? Asaph, David’s praise and worship leader, faced this same dilemma. He said, “For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked” (Ps. 73:3). We must remember that Satan is the god of this present world system, so he will help some people to get rich to further his kingdom. He wants people to believe that sinning and following evil pays. This is the reason millions today are blinded. They look at wicked people who have land, houses, fame, and popularity. Deceived by this, people think it’s smart to drink, smoke, gamble, and engage in the things that God has forbidden. Since many of the so-called famous people of this world are heralded for doing these things, young and old people alike are led to believe that emulating these individuals will bring them happiness, but it doesn’t. Asaph goes on to say, “Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.” How could the sanctuary give him the answers? Because the sanctuary is where God dwelt. Now, he no longer sees the alleged prosperity of the wicked, but the glory of God. Then and only then do the flaws of the wicked become obvious
