Hot Houston attics are tough to inspect. But a thorough attic inspection goes beyond a quick look.
At CLM Inspections, we use high-powered flashlights to carefully inspect attic framing for split, cracked, or damaged rafters and roof framing that could affect the home’s structural performance.
The good news? Finding a split rafter doesn’t always mean a major problem. In many cases, it’s a straightforward repair by sistering the damaged rafter—fastening a new 2×4 or larger member alongside it to restore strength and support.
Our job is to identify these conditions early so you can make informed decisions and address them before they become bigger issues.

Hey Houston!
Grounding matters.
Safety matters!
One of the items we carefully inspect at CLM Inspections is the Grounding Electrode Conductor (GEC) at the electrical service. The grounding connection should be properly secured, protected from damage, and remain accessible—not buried below grade where it can’t be inspected or serviced.
A properly installed grounding system helps protect your home’s electrical system by providing a safe path for fault current and reducing the risk of electrical hazards.
We’ll dig it out the ground rod and physically check it’s secured. It’s another example of how we go beyond a quick visual inspection to help protect your home and your family.

Hey Houston!
What’s hiding beneath your home?
Not every crawlspace/pier and beam construction is safe—or even possible—for a person like me (I’m 6.2’ 😁) to access. That’s why CLM Inspections uses a remote-controlled crawlspace camera rover to inspect hard-to-reach areas that would otherwise go unseen.
Recently, our rover identified OSB (Oriented Strand Board) installed in a crawlspace. OSB is not recommended for exposed crawlspace applications because the high humidity common in the Houston area can cause it to absorb moisture, swell, delaminate, and deteriorate over time.
Using advanced inspection technology helps us identify conditions that could affect your home’s structure, durability, and long-term performance.
At CLM Inspections, we don’t just inspect what we can see—we inspect what others might miss.
