Credit Card Delinquency Rates Hit Nearly 12-Year High

The Philadelphia Federal Reserve recently reported a significant increase in credit card delinquency rates, reaching the highest level since 2012. Consumers are increasingly holding off on new mortgages and credit cards, struggling to pay off their existing debt even as they reduce spending.
Greg McBride, chief financial analyst at Bankrate, noted, “The fact that we see more people carrying balances for a longer period of time, and now more people falling behind, is evidence of the struggle that millions of households are engaged in just trying to make ends meet.”
Consumers are thinking twice about extending themselves further due to steep rates and rising debt burdens. Wealthier households continue to spend on experiences, while brands offer promotions to attract budget-conscious customers.
Stay informed about the financial landscape and consider budgeting strategies to manage your debt effectively. đź’ˇ

Ticketmaster warns of breach affecting customers personal info and credit cards
In an email and a notice posted to its website, Ticketmaster says the breach took place between April 2 and May 18.

Ticketmaster is alerting customers in the U.S., Mexico and Canada about a data breach affecting account holders’ personal information, banking details and encrypted credit cards.

This is so unfortunate.

Ticketmaster stated, “We take data protection very seriously and have been working with the relevant authorities, including law enforcement, as well as credit card companies and banks.”
They also recommended that if customers had not received a letter by email or first-class mail, they likely were not among those affected by the data breach. It recommends customers who did get a letter or email monitor their banking records, change their passwords and consider a year’s worth of free “identity” monitoring.

I don’t believe this is good enough!
More must be done to protect our identities, bank accounts (especially if making purchases with a debit card which you should NEVER DO!!) and credit profiles.
