Our goal at Barcelo Gardens is to bring fresh produce to you. We have a garden where we grow seasonal produce, but we can only grow so much. So we also get produce from local farms. Since opening our store, we have space to offer more items and alot more variety. We work with about a dozen Local farms (different items like honey, eggs, meat, milk, and of course produce). This helps farmers get their items to market and do what they do best, grow!
We also do free community gardening classes because we want to teach you to "fish " as well as supporting local. It takes all of us to support our local economy and keeping food local, tasty, and nutritious.
Just to make this longer, we have our store, our farmers markets that we run at our garden, in Napoleonville, and now Lafreniere Park Farmers Market. We also participate in other farmers markets and popups, like Pete's on Mondays. We are not a large team, but we do this all because we want to strengthen our local food systems and feed the community.
