Gaillardia pulchella, Indian Blanket, Firewheel, is a true Texas native built for exactly what's coming. The heat, the dry spells, the relentless sun? This flower laughs at all of it and just keeps blooming straight through summer into fall. Pollinators love it, deer leave it alone, and it reseeds itself like it owns the place (because it does).

If your garden needs some color that won't quit when the temps climb, this is your flower. 🌼

Meet a Texas native worth knowing. 🤍 The Fragrant White Mistflower (Ageratina havanensis, formerly Eupatorium havanense) is a tough, drought-tolerant perennial shrub native to Texas and Mexico. Prized for its honey-scented, fluffy white flower clusters that bloom profusely from late summer through the fall, it is an absolute magnet for migrating monarchs and other pollinators. When it blooms, butterflies cannot resist it, it's one of the most important pollinator plants we have in Texas, providing a critical nectar source when very little else is flowering.

It thrives in shade and dry conditions, reseeds on its own, and asks for almost nothing in return. The kind of plant that makes you rethink how much effort a garden actually needs. 🦋
