I lost a $4,800 project because I built exactly what the client asked for.

Here's the lesson that changed how I work.

The brief was clear: "Just set up our GoHighLevel. Basic stuff."

I delivered it. On time. Under budget. Clean build.

Six weeks later: "The system isn't working. We're not getting results."

I went back in and pulled the data.

Leads were entering.
Automations were firing.
Pipeline was organized.

But 58% of leads were hitting a dead end on day 5.
No re-engagement. No escalation. No second sequence.

The client asked for a setup.
What they needed was a revenue architecture.

That was a $4,800 project.
Rebuilt properly, it became a $12K engagement — because I learned to ask a different question first.

Not: "What do you want built?"

But: "What does success look like in 90 days, and what has to happen in the system for that to be true?"

That question has made every project I've taken since more expensive and more valuable.
