A little late, but definitely worth celebrating! ❤️🐾

We apologize for the delayed update from our 6/19/26 Central Transport!

It may have been a smaller transport, but it was certainly small but mighty. 💪🐶 We had 11 amazing pups from 9 different rescue organizations make the journey toward brighter futures with loving adopters and partner rescues.

Every transport, no matter the size, represents lives changed and second chances made possible. Thank you to our rescue partners, volunteers, drivers, fosters, and supporters who help make these journeys happen.

Here's to 11 more happy endings and many more to come! ❤️🚐🐾

Thank you to Heart of the Underdog, PAWS & Wings of Hope Foundation, Jenni's Rescue Ranch, Destination Rescue Dogs, Saving Pups of Texas, Houston K-911 Rescue, Amy Dale Delsanter, Forgotten Coast Animal Rescue, INC. and Roams to Homes Animal Rescue, Inc.

🚨 New World Screwworm (NWS) Awareness & Pet Transport Updates 🚨

Animal welfare organizations, rescues, transporters, fosters, and adopters across Texas should be aware that the recent detection of New World Screwworm (NWS) in Texas has prompted increased attention to animal movement and health documentation requirements. NWS is a serious parasite that can affect dogs, cats, livestock, wildlife, and other animals.

As state and federal agencies continue evaluating disease prevention measures, some states are increasing scrutiny of animals entering from Texas. Rescue groups and transport organizations may encounter additional requirements such as:

🐾 Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (Health Certificates)having shorter valid time period prior to transport
🐾 Additional veterinary examinations prior to transport
🐾 State-specific entry permits or documentation requirements

Requirements can vary significantly by destination state, and many states already have made changes to transport requirements for dogs/cats coming from Texas.

⚠️ Most importantly, this situation is still evolving. As agencies respond to NWS concerns, additional changes to interstate transport requirements could occur with little notice. Rescue organizations and adopters should verify current regulations before every transport and remain flexible as new guidance becomes available.

❤️ Responsible transport saves lives. By staying informed, maintaining accurate veterinary records, and ensuring animals travel with proper documentation, we can continue moving dogs and cats safely from Texas to loving homes across the country.
