Happy New Year, AAFR!!!! Can’t wait to start back putting in work and service this year!!!! It’s been a long time coming, but I’m coming back more educated, more enlightened and more stronger!!!!

Happy MLK Day!!! As I sit back and listen to some of Dr. King’s famous speeches throughout history, I can’t help but feel immense pride in my race. Not only just for the contributions of Dr. King, but also the contributions of African American pioneers who stood along with him and beside him. I think of the many marches hand by hand, protests, reluctance/resistance to sit in the back of ANYWHERE! Resistance to not being allowed to eat in white only diners, resistance to white only restrooms and water fountains. You should never forget our past struggles, but move forward with progression in mind. The fight still continues and still today, we refuse to sit in the back. We continue to scream to the top of our lungs that we are BLACK and PROUD! ✊🏽 Whether you agree or not with Dr. King and his tactics, he has contributed most profoundly to the freedom movement. Happy MLK Day! Never forget.
