Where in the Keweenaw is KISMA going to be this summer?☀️🌊🌲
Whether you want to learn more about invasive species in our region, discover which native plants are best for creating habitat for native pollinators, hear about the projects we’re working on to protect our forests and wetlands, or simply stop by to say hello, we’d love to see you at one of our events across the Keweenaw!

We had a fantastic day out on the Tech Trails for invasive species training! Participants from the Copper Harbor Trails Club (CHTC), Lyme Timber, Houghton Keweenaw Conservation District, Keweenaw Land Trust, and the local community members joined us to learn how to identify and manage invasive species. We also toured several project sites to see restoration efforts in action. Thanks to everyone who spent the day helping protect the Keweenaw’s natural areas! 🌿💚
Also huge shoutout to CHTC and Lyme Timber for their donations and support!

🌿 Join us and Swedetown Trails Club this summer to help protect our local forests!
Every Friday from June 5 through August 14, we’ll be working together to remove invasive glossy buckthorn from the Swedetown trail system. These volunteer workdays help restore native habitat, improve forest health, and protect the natural beauty of our trails for future generations.
