Summer Reading registration is now underway and we’re excited to kick off the program on Monday, June 22, with a baby petting zoo from Animal Craze! This year’s Summer Reading Program features exciting grand prizes for children, teens, and adults, as well as an online auction hosted by the Friends of the Hopedale Library the week of August 10. Bancroft Memorial Library is so much more than books! Sure we offer books, movies, museum passes, hotspots - but we are also the caretakers of Hopedale’s history. Within our archives are historic documents, photographs, and letters that help tell the story of Hopedale. Among our treasured pieces are the original letter from Joseph Bancroft selling the Library to the Town for just $1.00, a diary of Joseph and Sylvia Bancroft written by their daughter Lilla, and a letter from William Draper donating $500 for the purchase of “technical books.”

Libraries preserve more than information - they preserve the stories, history, and heart of a community. ❤️
