How can you look at life with an eternal perspective?

There are many beautiful things about Demopolis, Alabama. One of them is the Gainswood Manor. It was finished in 1860 and has been a remarkable reminder of the past ever since. One of the many stunning features of this lavish home are the grand mirrors in the ballroom. They were carefully measured to fit on opposite sides of the room. They look like they go on for eternity. They are still hanging inside the manor today, which has been turned into a museum for the world to see.

What brings you JOY????

This is my 6th Great-Grandfather Luke Johnson! He was one of the original members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles from 1835-1838.

He loved his time as an Apostle but one thing he loved even more was to go out and preach the gospel. He was accompanied by Sidney Rigdon to go out and preach the gospel to the people in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He loved every second of it! Together their efforts brought fifty new members into the church.

He said, “ There is nothing more joyus than seeing our brothers and sisters come closer to Christ and accept the true and everlasting gospel.”

💢 How do you exercise your faith in Christ? 💢

In 1845 an anti-Mormon mob attacked the Yelrome Stake located 25 miles south of Nauvoo, Hancock Co Illinois. The entire settlement was burned, and during the attack Roswell's wife Elinor and his daughter were killed when mobbers pulled the roof of their cabin down on them. That same year Roswell was ordained to the 20th quorum of the Seventies. In spite of his trials, Roswell "instructed the brethren to be faithful in keeping the commandments of God; to become Saviors, and said that they must hold out faithful to the end."
