Still processing our 45 day journey and after filling 2 sketchbooks and taking over 1000 photos on my phone, I've been doing sketches from memory and then comparing my notes, plein air sketches and photos. This is from Kangaroo Island, after we'd come back from our outing arranged by our cruise ship aboard the Norwegian Sun.

We walked along the bay until it was time to reembark. It was a sunny day and pelicans floated past on the water, wallabies hopped along in the scrub along the shore.

The black basalt ran in jagged diagonals jutting out of the white sand like a crashed alien craft.

It was beautiful.

I took my QOR halfpan set along with 20 sheets cut to 7x10in Arches 300g/m² cold press and Saunders paper, 3 brushes and my Micron .05 pen and a grey watercolor pencil as my kit to keep it small and handy whether we were hiking, snorkeling, walking or riding out for the day and a 6x6 Royal Talens sketchbook completed my kit.
