Late Post: Kona was lit !!
Why chase waterfalls when they’re in your backyard?
Sometimes, you don’t need to go far to find beauty — you just need to open your eyes to home. 🌊
They say dragons are only found in myths…
But in Pohnpei — they’re real. 🐉🌊
Not the kind that fly through the sky,
but the ones that move through water.
In Pohnpei, we call them family.
The Great Eel Clan — Lasialap — traces its bloodline back to these beings.
We do not eat them, for they are our ancestors.
In the ruins of Nan Madol, the sacred eel Nan Samol was fed by high priests.
When the eel accepted the offering, it meant the gods had spoken.
In Pwudoi, families still feed giant eels by hand —
not as pets, but as relatives.
And in the old stories, an eel gave birth to the founders of our clans…
Her body became a mountain.
Her spirit — the current that never dies.
Across the Pacific, the eel appears again and again —
a god, a trickster, a guardian.
In Samoa, from an eel’s head grew the first coconut tree.
In Kiribati, the eel god Riiki pushed the sky to its height.
So when you see the water ripple in Pohnpei,
and something stirs beneath —
remember… not all dragons breathe fire.
Some swim.
Some remember.
Some still call us family. 🌺
Come with me on a cinematic journey through the islands of Micronesia — from Pohnpei to Chuuk, Kosrae, and Yap.
These are some of my favorite shots… moments that remind me of home, culture, and everything that makes our islands special. 🌊🌴 what’s your favorite shot ?

I almost forgot this was the whole point
I came to take photos of the waterfall…
But ended up watching the locals
jumping, laughing, like the place was a playground
Like the place was built for them
I almost forgot this was the whole point
It’s freedom, it’s growing up in Pohnpei, it’s what home feels like…
