So happy to look out of the window and see some sky after weeks of rain.

Usually you feel happy when a painting sells, but this time it meant something especially meaningful to me. A student purchased it.

We just wrapped up our faculty exhibition at HPU, and the response was wonderful. It was inspiring to see art on the walls in a place where we spend so much of our everyday life, and to feel how much people enjoyed encountering it there.

The student who bought my painting is already a young collector. He has several prints by well-known contemporary artists, and I believe this piece became his first original oil painting—and also the first work by a Russian artist in his collection. That makes the moment feel particularly special to me.

I also feel very lucky to work in a place where I’m surrounded by students who appreciate art. Being part of their journey and contributing to their search for knowledge and discovery makes moments like this especially meaningful.
