American Red Cross staff and volunteers are currently preparing for Typhoon Bavi as the storm approaches Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Communities across the islands are bracing themselves for the storm as many continue to recover from the impacts of Typhoon Sinlaku in April.

Typhoon Bavi is currently a powerful Category 4 storm with sustained winds of approximately 145 mph. Forecasters warn that it could rapidly strengthen into a Category 5 Super Typhoon before impacting Guam and the CNMI.

American Red Cross staff and volunteers are on the ground positioning emergency resources, supporting community members and partners, and standing ready to respond throughout the islands.

Red Cross Sending Support as Second Powerful Storm Since April Nears Guam, CNMI As the second powerful storm in less than three months heads for Guam, Tinian and Saipan, the American Red Cross is deploying disaster teams and relief supplies to the region ahead of any landfall.

The Island Energy Services, LLC (IES) Round Up Campaign generated $100,000 for the American Red Cross! The program, held from March through April 2026, gave Texaco customers the opportunity to round up their purchases or make direct donations at checkout. Thirty Texaco stations and two franchisees participated in the statewide effort. IES also increased its customer donation match to $50,000 in response to severe Kona Low storms that impacted communities across the state during the campaign period.
