Please be advised of lane closures on Kapiolani Boulevard due to equipment breakdown today.

Roadwork on Kapiolani Boulevard, between Harding Ave. and Atkinson Drive, will resume today, January 27, 2025. These roadway improvements are expected to be completed by August 2025.

City crews will be reconstructing roads, installing manhole covers and vehicle sensor loops, and completing pavement striping from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Morning and afternoon contraflow coning on this portion of Kapiolani Boulveard will be suspended while the project is underway.

Please drive safely and allow for extra travel time. Mahalo for your patience and understanding as these important improvements are made in our community.

Starting next week, structural improvements will begin at the Ted Morioka Gymnasium at Palolo Valley District Park as part of a phased reroofing project. This first phase will focus on upgrading the gym’s steel framing, gutters, and drainage, and is scheduled to be completed before this year’s Summer Fun Program.

During construction, the gym will be closed, and nearby field space and some public parking areas will be temporarily unavailable. Please avoid these areas, especially during work hours from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays (excluding holidays).
