A pivotal part of my personal development was the understanding of perception and how it differs among us (as humans), amongst a neutral scene we both/all encounter.

“The Show Must Go On” represents the common human experience of grief, with cycling emotions (shown in color), which society tells us to suppress, especially in the workplace, etc.

Each picture contains at least 3 versions of an image, the neutral “objective reality” (the picture as is), another from my perspective, and the 3rd from another’s POV while watching the same performance(s).

One image has a faint texture of “clouds” to show how that view is “clouded” or unclear, juxtaposed with another (with a “liquify effect”), causing it to be distorted in its own way. That is 1 collage.

Visual perception differs as well. In another collage, varied shades of red conveys the physiological difference in our view(s) of the world. The “neutral reality” shade would be directly from the light spectrum.

Also, the 3 smaller prints are from called “Psych Blues”, which was pre-coated with color. All three are reflections from the now-closed music venue, “On Stage.”
