Retro on 8th

The best half of Retro on 8th, Jennifer, is donating her father’s nearly complete or complete collection of Time Magazine covers painted by Henry Koerner, one of Pittsburgh’s esteemed, prominent artists, to a current exhibit by Rivers of Steel. Jen’s parents lived in the 3rd floor apartment above Koerner on Murray Hill Ave and often saw him painting outside. There is a retrospective exhibition at the Bost Building in Homestead, Paintable Pittsburgh: The Art of Henry Koerner, until July 31, 2026. Check it out if you can.
