What is Dynamic Manual Interface (DMI)?:

**DMI is an advanced comprehensive form of manual therapy that embodies some of the most current research in the dynamics of the human body. DMI utilizes the body’s self corrective mechanisms to improve tissue mobility, bio-mechanics and system balance. Practitioners of DMI have learned to feel, interpret and facilitate specific subtle rhythms within the b

ody. While the basic concepts are simple, the training for the hands and the mind is extensive. Familiarity with anatomical details, bio-mechanics and physiology is important for the advanced practitioner.

**DMI can help virtually any condition, regardless of age group, and although it is not curative, many situations that have not responded well to other forms of treatment or therapy often respond favorably to this work.

**DMI is a light touch technique, utilizing a precise interface which has both physical and energetic components. The focus is highly specific, but orchestrated by the tissues and their rhythms. With DMI’s unique method of hand usage combined with a thorough understanding of the organization and relationships of the body, a skilled practitioner can interact specifically with many different tissues of the body for assessment and treatment purposes.

**DMI is both a science and an art. It is extraordinarily effective from a client’s perspective and both interesting and exhilarating to learn and perform. What is DMI Not?:

**DMI is not a substitute for medical treatment. It is not a form of esoteric or shamanic healing. While our interface is light and has an energetic component, we do not consider this “energy work”.

**DMI training itself does not give an individual a professional license to touch, nor does it belong to a particular group of practitioners. (We have students who are MTs, PTs, Chiropractors, Naturopaths, OTs, MDs, Acupuncturists, Osteopaths, Nurses, and Heilpraktikerin).

**While symptoms may change rapidly and dramatically, DMI is not focused on symptoms, but rather the body’s self corrective mechanisms and its ability to adapt. DMI is not like pain medicine or a cortisone injection…therapy is not an event, but rather a facilitated process that can improve all levels of functioning.

It’s been a while. Frank and I have not disappeared, even though it might seem so. We will be teaching again but it’s been quite a year, of course following the disruption of COVID-19.
In May, Frank had prostate surgery. His intention was to resume treatment and teaching. He is doing well, though complete recovery is a long process. However , we are also planning a move closer to family and have been involved with the process of getting the house ready for sale.
This was not an easy decision, but it became apparent when my stepmother was in her final time and required intensive family support that moving near my family was the most sensible option. Since Frank no longer has living family, we are moving closer to mine. I am very happy that both of my daughters wanted us to be near them. Our new home is in Holyoke, MA. It is about 35 minutes from Hartford/Springfield Airport (Bradley).
It does seem sudden, but it is really hard to manage finding and selling a house and moving with a dog across the country. We needed to avoid crossing the country in winter weather and a house became available with this timeline.
I will write to discuss precise timeline. My hope was to have an advanced training with Frank and to do a few basic classes in Washington, but there is still so much to do.

Core Concepts for Dynamic Manual Interface. Taugh June 11-12 in Spokane Valley, WA. This will be an extended hours class to fit into a weekend. The focus will be on hand skills and assessment as well as increasing understanding of this gentle and powerful approach to treatment. This class is a required prerequisite for all other classes but also would be great as a refresher for repeaters. Skills can be applied to enhance virtually any type of manual therapy. Limited space available.

We are trying something new! I am hoping that this is a good way to allow Frank to interact more readily!
Happy New Year!
We are looking into starting up classes. Tentatively, I will be doing a Core Class in the Albuquerque area in March. No discussion yet about trainings, but Frank is developing as always. Laurie
