Being a parent can be an overwhelming, emotional experience.
These little kiddos rely on us for everything.
We are their whole world.

Some days I feel like I am getting the hang of this whole mom business, and then other days, I feel like I need to cry.
It can be hard. Our work is different.
You may not see the impact of it for years.

But if you give yourself time to just be quiet for a moment, and really watch your child in their independent play, that is where you will see it. You are building these children. They are complex, unique beings. And require a lot of your energy.

With that realization, it is important to make sure you have positive energy to share with your children. Taking time for yourself is an essential part of parenthood. And using that time to fuel and replenish yourself is the key. Breathing, meditation/prayer, journaling, learning a skill, allowing yourself to truly rest will help with the marathon of parenting.
