I was asked today what the difference was between a Latte vs a Macchiato. So without talking traditional differences let's talk in today's world. A Macchiato is espresso poured over frothed milk in a 1 part milk to 2 parts espresso. Macchiato meaning "marked". A latte is steamed AND frothed milk poured over espresso. The milk ratio is 2/3 steamed milk to 1/3 frothed milk. If flavorings are used, in a Macchiato they are put over the milk whereas they are added to the espresso in a latte. So...not big differences.
