đż Hamakua Overgrowth Cleanup â Round One! đș
Our Hamakua regular â the one we clean for, organize for, pet sit for, house sit for, and basically treat like extended Ê»ohana â called us in for some âthe lawn guys donât touch thatâ overgrowth.
So we loaded up the crew, the tools, and our weedâwhacker wranglers, ready to face whatever the jungle had planned.
Once on site, we cut away everything the mowers avoid â vines, thickets, mystery plants plotting a takeover â using both machine and hand tools. We even did a little tree pruning to clear out dead and unproductive branches so the good stuff can bloom again.
We pushed as far as we could in the time we had⊠and then the back ravine stared at us like a final boss.
So yes â we booked two full 8âhour days to come back and finish the job properly. That ravine is about to get humbled.
Great effort, great client, and weâre already looking forward to our next cleanup. Hilo Helpers: showing up, showing out, and showing the jungle whoâs boss. đȘđ±

đ§ïž Mountain View Cleanup Mission â Completed! đż
With all the past storms and now the nonstop rain, our regular Mountain View client was beyond relieved to see Hilo Helpers roll up like the cleanup Avengers. A hala tree decided to take a dramatic nap right on top of their shed â full telenovela energy â so we jumped in, cut it down, and hauled it out before it could cause any more drama.
We also trimmed branches and trees to clear a path along the residence, because apparently everything in the yard wanted to grow exactly where humans need to walk.
Four hours later:
Client = happy
Us = sweaty
Yard = looking like it finally got its life together
And of course, Sofia was on-site providing moral support, emotional encouragement, and wet kisses â basically the real supervisor of the day.
We showed up and showed out. Rain, mud, fallen trees⊠weâre not scared. đ±đȘ

đ„ Summer is here â and so is the urge to clear out everything you swore youâd deal with back in April.
Donât worry, Hilo Helpers remembers. And weâre ready.
These photos are from one of our spring warmâups: a full truckload in one go, sorted and delivered to the donation center.
Now that itâs summer, weâre basically in junkâremoval beast mode.
We sort. We haul. We donate.
You relax. Hydrate. Pretend you did all the work.
Thanks to our amazing clients for the trust and the steady stream of âHey, can you come back?â calls.
đ Call us for a quote â letâs make your summer clutter-free.

Aloha and happy Monday from the Pea Patrol đșđŸ
Every day I look forward to my morning and evening walks with Pea. Some days we come home soaked like we got caught in a surprise car wash, other days weâre surprisingly dry. But one thing stays the same â weâre out here exploring, sniffing (mostly him), and making new friends.
Pea, the selfâappointed Mayor of Ê»Ala Heiau, insists on stopping to greet every resident, visitor, chicken, and suspiciously wiggly leaf. I just trail behind like his campaign manager carrying snacks.
Another day, another neighborhood tour led by the fluffiest politician in town.

Late April Post: one of our regulars calls and says, âHey⊠an albizia from the neighborâs yard just fell on my citrus tree.â
Albizia out here acting like it pays rent.
We removed the culprit, patched up the citrus, replanted the fenceâline plants that got launched by the storm, and then did our usual weedâeating to remind the yard whoâs boss.
Pics are of the fallen troublemaker and the freshly fixedâup area.

đ§ïžđ Hilo Helpers: Coop GlowâUp Edition đđž
This weekâs adventure took us from pressureâwashing warriors to gardenâbed installers to rainâdodging painters â all in the name of one very loved chicken coop.
We started with a beautiful drive up the coast, then rolled up our sleeves to pressure wash the coop and porch until everything looked brandânew. After a quick breather (and a few friendly clucks from the residents), we came back to install a fresh garden bed filled with bright vincas and sunpatiens â because even chickens deserve curb appeal.
Then came Round Three: painting the interior and exterior of the coop a clean, crisp white. A few coats, a few surprise rain showers, and a few tarpâtent acrobatics later⊠we got it done. The coop is glowing, the porch is refreshed, and the client was thrilled we wrapped it all up before the real rains settled in.
From pet feeding to garden bed installs to pressure washing and painting â Hilo Helpers is out here keeping Hilo fresh, tidy, and full of aloha, one project at a time. đșđȘ

Aloha friends, clients, and community â weâre making a few updates to our service list to stay safe, efficient, and focused on the work we do best.
We are no longer offering chainsaw services. The demand has been low, and the maintenance required to keep the equipment in safe working condition is no longer practical.
We will continue using our reciprocating saw for small rubbishâtree removal and light clearing where appropriate.
We are also phasing out handâweeding and handâpulling for garden maintenance. The repetitive motion has become a strain and limits our ability to complete other services effectively.
Handâweeding will now only be included during full garden bed installations or renovations, and only when the bed must be cleared as part of the project.
These adjustments help us protect longâterm health, reduce unnecessary hazards, and stay efficient and reliable for the services we continue to offer.
Mahalo for your understanding and continued support.
